Improving the condition of soil is essential for successful agriculture since it increases crop output and fertility. Applying biochar to can boost yields Biochar a solid carbon-rich substance made by pyrolyzing biomass, which includes trash, wood, agricultural leftovers under low oxygen conditions. Because has potential uses in waste recycling, nutrient retention, greenhouse gas emission reduction, significant sequestering carbon. Over last two decades, received substantial attention environment. Agriculture productivity long been increased application synthetic fertilizers, some leached into environment released gases (GHG). microbiology water as well increasing fertilizer efficiency, are basic problems facing practices. becoming more popular supplement increase sequester one many conservation techniques that be used improve fertility, productivity, slow down global warming. It also readily available important input sustainable agriculture. Furthering food security, may soils' ability produce crops various biotic abiotic stress. This review examines numerous guarantee long-term, safe enhancement An overview characteristics, manufacturing process, applications given this review. Researchers, farmers, academics interested using might find helpful resource.

Herein, biochars derived from corn stalks, rice husks, and bamboo powder were modified by nitric acid oxidation sodium hydroxide alkali activation to identify efficient cost-effective polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-adsorbent microbial-immobilized carriers. The surface characterization adsorption investigation results suggested that acid/alkali modification promoted the phenanthrene removal ability in an aqueous solution of via facilitating π–π/n–π electron donor–acceptor interactions, electrostatic hydrogen bonds, hydrophobic interactions. Subsequently, degrading bacteria Rhodococcus sp. DG1 was successfully immobilized on husk-derived biochar with (RBO), which exhibited maximum efficiency (3818.99 µg·g−1), abundant functional groups, a larger specific area (182.6 m2·g−1) pore volume (0.141 m3·g−1). Degradation studies revealed microorganisms RBO method yielded significant rate 80.15% after 30 days, 38.78% higher than control. Conversely, polymer gel network-based microenvironment microorganism-immobilized combined adsorption–embedding restricted migration diffusion nutrients pollutants reaction system. This study thus introduces innovative biochar-based microbial immobilization technology characterized simple design, convenient operation, high efficiency, offering valuable insights into material selection for PAH contamination bioremediation.

Heavy metals have been viewed as hazardous environmental pollutants, and anthropogenic activities due to their high toxicity persistent nature in the environment. Anthropogenic such artisanal mining, industrial activities, improper usage of fertilizers pesticides, indiscriminate open waste disposal bring about an increase presence heavy In Keffi Metropolis, different elements lead land contamination which debilitates soil quality, plant survival, human well-being, environment a result extensive dispersion or quantity water. recent years, biochar has emerged promising amendment for mitigating metal pollution its unique physicochemical properties. This paper provides effects softwood pellet on retention contaminated soils. A microcosm experiment was carried out investigate research aimed give overview at temperatures (550˚C 700˚C) metalloids released from during water inundation. The results show that addition organic matter (grass chippings) minimizes mobilization. Also, is more effective than those low temperatures. expected outcome analysis includes providing insights into role retaining further understanding use sorbent management soil.
