Waste management in the agri-food industry is an important technological and environmental problem. Slaughterhouse waste particularly problematic, as it contains significant amounts of proteins lipids, neither which constitute a good substrate for methane production. The physical properties mixtures fat polar solvents inhibit methanogenesis process. aim this research was to assess impact addition emulsifiers biochar on amount biogas produced level carbon conversion per unit weight. assumed goal achieved based laboratory experiment using static fermentation, carried out accordance with methodology DIN 38414/S8 standard. results indicate that increased yield from slaughterhouse approximately 370 430 dm3 2 kg dry weight waste. Each variant resulted increase transformed Although transformation process by 20% objects emulsifier addition, use did not change Within system limits, therefore, seems be pointless. However, developed technology can improve efficiency production up 18% shorten 5 days. Assuming continuous operation plant, will long term over 30% without need modify infrastructure plant.

Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a promising biowaste valorization technology for sustainable energy, circular economy, local energy community growth, and supporting authorities’ environmental goals. This paper presents systematic review meta-analysis methodology biomethane estimation, using over 600 values of volatile solids (VS) content biochemical methane potential (BMP) six different waste streams, collected from 240 scientific studies. The streams include cow manure (CM), sheep/goat (SGM), wheat straw (WS), household (HW), organic fraction municipal solid (OFMSW), sewage sludge (SS). statistical analysis showed mean VS 11.9% 37.3% 83.1% 20.8% 19.4% 10.6% (SS), with BMP 204.6, 184.1, 305.1, 361.7, 308.3, 273.1 L CH4/kg VS, respectively. case study Kozani, Greece, demonstrated the methodology’s applicability, revealing annual CH4 production 15,429,102 m3 (corresponding to 551 TJ energy), SGM, WS, CM as key substrates. aiming climate neutrality by 2030, currently employs conventional management, like composting, while many business residual remain unused. proposed model facilitates design implementation AD units sustainable, climate-neutral future.
