The nano zero-valent iron (nZVI)/peroxymonosulfate (PMS)-based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are promising for removal of antibiotic contaminants in groundwater. However, the inherent defects rapid passivation and inactivation limit efficient steady application nZVI. Herein, La@nZVI/rGO was synthesized which nZVI coated with La distributed evenly on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) matrix. introduction coating protected from direct contact PMS molecules thus appeared activization to degrade OFX without inactivation. rate promoted 96.4% compared uncoated nZVI/rGO (only 85.2%). degradation reaction represented continuous activation a first-order kinetic characteristic (0.0451 min−1). While two-stage nZVI/rGO/PMS initial 0.2584 min−1 instant 0.0024 resulted La@nZVI/rGO/PMS exhibited minimal leaching Fe ions (less than 1.8 µg/L) while it reached 6.4 mg/L nZVI/rGO/PMS. XRD XPS analyses further demonstrated excellent durability obvious nZVI/rGO. ESR quenching tests confirmed that regulated ROS generation mechanism. dominated by 1O2-induced non-free radical process system different Moreover, dissolved oxygen detection analysis revealed important role vacancy catalytic degradation. In this study, fly ash cenospheres (FACs), characterized by their floating properties and inherent photocatalytic activity, were used as a carrier to support ZnFe 2 O 4 material doped with conductive polymer polypyrrole (PPy) prepare novel ternary PPy–ZnFe /FACs (PPy–ZF) composite catalyst. X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, TEM, scanning electron microscopy characterize the structure, morphology, optical of samples prepared. particular, 20 mg/L methyl orange (MO) solution at pH was given 0.075 g PPy–ZF catalyst add, after 30 min dark adsorption, followed irradiation for 180 min, 98.54% MO removed. The also shown have good stability reusability through three cycles use. Additionally, exhibited activity other dyes. results experiments showed significantly enhanced toward MO, which mainly attributed synergistic effect PPy on surface FACs, leading high separation efficiency low rate photogenerated charge complexation. addition, cyclic tests demonstrated composite. role in degradation radical trapping experiment, ·O − h + . present study can improve performance materials /FACs, is beneficial solve current energy crisis environmental pollution problems.
