The necessity of affordable and durable building-integrated photovoltaics has gained widespread importance for the renewable energy transition involving electrification decarbonization in climate-neutral cities that possess many public health co-benefits. Although PV market is dominated by polycrystalline monocrystalline silicon solar cells first generation, there an impetus research lately more sophisticated cell architectures with higher efficiency, longer lifetime, less use raw materials eco-design approach. To accelerate building integration next generation associated climate change mitigation benefits, we propose this work a holistic novel approach to requirements parameters emerging innovative structures, spanning from intrinsic properties panels effect urban environment. Within framework, supported simulation, improvement cells’ efficiency revealed as important parameter their wider deployment well major covering needs minimized thermal impact By analyzing lab-reported values timeline tandem cells, 30% BIPV eco-designed products central milestone be attained before 2030 sustainable transformation.

This study investigates the impact of heat exposure on health outcomes among older adults in 10 Indian states, using data from Longitudinal Aging Study India (LASI-Wave I) and climate National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Propensity score matching ordered probit models were employed to control for demographic factors isolate effects exposure. Our results show a significant association between worsening self-reported mental health, including increased feeling depression, fatigue, fear, decreased life satisfaction. The analysis indicates that access cooling devices mitigates adverse rural areas, while onsite water benefits urban residents. These findings underscore critical role housing environment moderating impacts suggest targeted interventions protect vulnerable populations.

This article addresses the intricate relationship between urban heat islands and climate vulnerability, focusing on city of Viña del Mar in Chile emphasizing need for comprehensive communal or local policies to prevent, adapt to, mitigate adverse effects these phenomena. By analyzing measures contained existing national adaptation plans health sectors, as well proposed municipal resilience plan, study identifies gaps opportunities improving regulatory frameworks planning strategies. The results are divided into sub-themes. first one refers Health Sector Adaptation Plan Climate Change; second deals with Cities third Resilience Valparaíso. Finally, research underscores importance integrating nature-based solutions, such green infrastructure, that include quantifiable methods analysis, combating island phenomenon stimulating development linked change. It also highlights critical intersection right city, health, adequate housing context urgency tailored vulnerable populations justice.
