Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are ubiquitous in redox-fluctuating environments, exerting profound impacts on biogeochemical cycles. However, whether ROS can be generated during redox manipulation activated sludge wastewater treatment processes (AS-WTPs) and the underlying remain largely unknown. This study demonstrates that production is AS-WTPs due to frequency capacity of depend operating modes. The anaerobic/oxic continuous-flow reactor showed persistent generation (0.8-2.1 μM instantaneous H

The application of the bacterial dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium (DNRA) process for treating nitrate-rich wastewater offers an environmentally friendly and resource-efficient strategy with significant potential nitrogen recovery. This study investigates impact carbon sources, C/N ratios, pH, temperature on DNRA efficiency Pseudomonas sp. strain LZ-1 (strain LZ-1). results revealed that sodium citrate is most favorable source among formate, acetate, propionate, enhancing in LZ-1. Ammonia production by peaks at a 8 within range 3 20, increasing before decreasing thereafter. Furthermore, neutral alkaline conditions (pH 7-10) are process, optimal initial pH 9. Temperature studies indicate similar trend increase followed decline as temperatures rise from 20 35 °C, peak ammonia 30 °C. presence sulfur ions inhibits However, this inhibitory effect diminished S/N ratio increased 1/4 1. These insights contribute deeper understanding environmental factors serve valuable reference utilization recovery wastewaters.
