Human activities, global warming, frequent extreme weather events, and changes in atmospheric composition affect the solar radiation reaching Earth’s surface, mass heat transfer at air–water interface, induce oscillations wind-driven internal waves. This leads to spatiotemporal characteristics of thermal stratification lakes, altering lake circulation patterns vertical transfer. However, structures are often overlooked. The intensification due warming may lead increased release bottom pollutants, spreading through dynamic behavior thermocline epilimnion. Moreover, storage is beneficial for growth development certain phytoplankton, resulting rapid transitions original steady state lakes. Consequently, water quality deterioration, ecological degradation, declining biodiversity occur. Conventional surface monitoring not provide comprehensive, accurate, timely assessments. Model simulations can better predict future behaviors, reducing financial burdens, providing more refined assessments, thus preventing subsequent environmental issues.
