This paper presents a novel approach to predict and map radon thoron levels. We developed separate prediction maps for Ireland introduced system producing high-resolution 3D radiation which may be used planning purposes in residential areas, recycling demolishing waste depots, quarries of building construction material. Additionally, we highlight the critical need monitor alongside indoor surveys, as thoron's shorter half-life higher energy levels pose greater health risk.

Radon is a natural and radioactive noble gas, which may accumulate indoors cause lung cancers after long term-exposure. Being decay product of Uranium 238, it originates from the ground spatially variable. Many environmental (i.e., geology, tectonic, soils) architectural factors building age, floor) influence its presence indoors, make difficult to predict. However, different methods have been developed applied identify radon prone areas buildings. This paper presents results systematic literature review suitable statistical willing buildings where high indoor concentrations might be found. The application these particularly useful improve knowledge most likely connected concentrations. These types are not so commonly used, since generally that study predictive concentration focused on average aim level. In this paper, an attempt has made classify found, their description clearer. Four main classes identified: descriptive methods, regression geostatistical machine learning methods. For each presented method, advantages disadvantages while some applications examples given. ultimate purpose overview provide researchers with synthesis optimize selection method

Many countries are developing a radon action plan to provide decision-makers with reliable tool for reducing the harmful effects of exposure in dwellings and among general public and, accordingly, implement land development strategies. In this paper, activity concentration 238U, 226Ra, 232Th 40K exhalation rate 222Rn have been estimated Silurian black shales Villasalto, district south-eastern Sardinia (Italy). Protection of people from radon exposure in workplaces is an important factor decreasing lung cancer risk. International authorities have set ‘reference levels’ to control enhanced exposure. Radiometric investigations, including in-situ measurements and laboratory gamma-spectroscopy, were carried out monitor the define transfer model Medau-Zirimilis Dam Sardinia. It was found that a shale formation main source accumulated gallery this dam. The water passing through bedrock transports considerable amount sediments containing uranium-bearing minerals. Outgassing flowing drainage canal its accumulation due poor ventilation could be reasons for indoor level. methodology introduced here can adopted underground like mines tunnels understand natural radiation hazard effectiveness possible mitigation strategies.
