The recovery of valuable resources from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) has received a great deal attention as part the concept circular economy. Anaerobic digestion for stabilizing sewage sludge in WWTPs, which produces biogas and stabilized biosolids, is mature technology used worldwide. However, despite necessity achieving safe reliable organic recycling, studies on effect some emerging micropollutants this process are rare.
