Drought can profoundly alter freshwater ecosystems. Although the impacts of drought on fish have received increasing attention, our understanding response gut microbes to event remains limited. We combined approaches focusing community assembly processes and microbial core network investigate dynamic interactions between external environment during recovery periods, assessed resistibility at different periods. found that would decrease diversity affect composition function communities in gut. The exchange compensated for decline drought. In addition, effects propagated through trophic cascades. compensation mechanism reflects adaptability environments. Our study highlights environment, provides a new perspective extreme

Aggregation and co-occurrence patterns of microbial communities are the key scientific issues in lake ecology. To explore mechanisms ecological assembly community succession this unique habitat, 16 samples were collected from eight sites Wuliangsuhai Lake. Second-generation DNA sequencing was applied to reveal spatial dynamics bacterial structure distribution across two environmental media nutrient-rich shallow grassland elucidate characteristics network. This study also examined effects filtering biological interactions on formation maintenance composition diversity. The results highlight habitat heterogeneity composition, with no discernible latitudinal diversity patterns. causal analysis identified electrical conductivity, pH, total nitrogen, phosphorus as primary factors driving changes water sediment grass-type lakes, TN being driver. CL500-3 a pollution-tolerant species aquatic environments. g__norank_f_Verrucomicrobiaceae exhibited significant distance decay pattern, higher turnover rate than sediment. Co-occurrence network revealed greater complexity stability communities, three potential keystone species, water. neutral null model indicated that more susceptible dispersal limitation, whereas complex increased role deterministic processes construction. proposed division plant regions freshwater lakes demonstrated different types, contributing comprehensive understanding shallow-water structure.

Benthic microbial communities are a vital component of coastal subtidal zones, playing an essential role in nutrient cycling and energy flow, fundamental to maintaining the stability functioning marine ecosystems. However, response benthic prokaryotic eukaryotic environmental changes remains poorly understood. Herein, we conducted nearly semimonthly annual sampling survey investigate temporal patterns underlying mechanisms sediments Sanshan Island, situated eastern Laizhou Bay Bohai Sea, China. The results showed that variations followed distinct seasonal pattern, with turnover more dominant community succession. Nonetheless, contrasting were observed alpha diversity communities, as well taxa across different communities. Water temperature, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, salinity, total nitrogen (TN), NH4+, PO43− identified predominant drivers. assembly was driven by ecological processes, which stochastic processes mainly shaped while deterministic dominated Interactions within primarily characterized mutualistic or cooperative relationships, but ability maintain under disturbances notable differences. These shed light on dynamics potential driving disturbances, highlighting roles zones providing valuable insights for management conservation

Bacteria and micro-eukaryotes play important roles in river ecological systems. The processes that govern bacterial micro-eukaryotic communities urban rivers are still uncertain. spatiotemporal characteristics assembly of the Xiangjianghe River were explored using 16 S 18 rRNA gene amplicon sequencing present study. results indicate community composition exhibited distinct temporal spatial variation. topological co-occurrence networks demonstrate coexistence patterns vary significantly between four seasons. Water temperature (WT) oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) detected as most critical factors affecting structure. stochastic process (dispersal limitation) was dominant for bacteria all Deterministic influenced differently. Compared to bacteria, values niche breadth relatively lower, proportion deterministic higher micro-eukaryotes. These expand our understanding patterns, mechanisms, influencing rivers.

In this study, we investigated the adaptation of yellow-sand-substrate Morchella cultivation in desert fringe and its effect on soil physicochemical properties microbial communities. The qPCR high-throughput sequencing with null modeling analyzed diversity, networks, assembly under nutrient supplementation, linking changes to dynamics. results showed that yellow sand substrate can be planted area, as bags resulted a yield 691 g/m2 fruit units. Cultivation could significantly increase substrate, such organic matter (SOM), total nitrogen (TN), ammonium (NH4+−N), amount carbon (MBC/MBN). fungal community was dominated by Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, Firmicutes, Bacteroidota, Actinobacteriota. RDA analysis Ascomycota Proteobacteria were positively correlated NH4+−N, MBN, SOM, MBC, acting potassium (AK), TN, C/N. promoted positive correlation-dominant network pattern substrate. bag treatment reduced bacterial complexity while enhancing complexity, connectivity stability, accompanied significant increases Proteobacteria, Cladosporium, Thermomyces relative abundances during until original degradation. Deterministic processes communities, morel drove toward heterogeneous selection processes. study revealed economic value application potential improving sandy soil, which is great importance for practical mushrooms desert.
