Abstract In this study, biochar (BC) was prepared by pyrolysis using sesame straw as the precursor, and modified with hydroxyapatite chloroapatite to prepare hydroxyapatite-modified (HBC) chloroapatite-modified (BC-Cl), respectively. The changes in functional groups before after modification were investigated various characterization methods, passivation effects of BC, HBC, BC-Cl on lead (Pb) soil studied. three types introduced into contaminated at ratios 3% 5% passivate soil. After remediation, effective Pb content decreased 45.45%, 76.70%, 82.38%, respectively, compared control (CK) group. Moreover, increased dosage. When cultured for 90 d, reducible 22.03%, 22.97%, 26.36%, while residual state 76.22%, 88.31%, 103.53%, CK. effectively passivated soil, 5%BC-Cl sample exhibiting most pronounced effect. This study’s findings offer a new method efficient utilization provide reference developing apatite-based remediation materials.
