Pollution control is of great value in order to achieve sustainable development and meet the needs human development. This paper utilizes data from four rounds longitudinal surveys conducted between 2012 2018 as part China Labor Force Dynamic Survey. Employing multiple linear regression methods, it empirically investigates impact pollution on well-being rural residents. Empirical results show that even after accounting for individual, village, family characteristics, significantly affects happiness Notably, water emerges having most pronounced residents’ happiness. Furthermore, enhances residents by improving village environment, fostering harmony, enhancing physical mental health individuals. A heterogeneity analysis indicates exerts a stronger influence central western region ordinary villages, while its somewhat weaker eastern region. Addressing issue remains imperative, along with stimulating endogenous drivers ecological revitalization, effectiveness grassroots governance areas, continually bolstering sense among populace.

In order to cope with the extremely difficult challenges of water pollution control, China has widely implemented river chief system. The quality monitoring surface environment, as a solid defense line safeguard human health and ecosystem balance, is great importance in As well-known island county China, Yuhuan City holds even more precious resources. Leveraging machine learning technology develop prediction models significance for enhancing evaluation environment quality. This case study aims evaluate effectiveness six predicting index (CWQI) uses SHAP (Shapley Additive exPlans) an interpretability analysis method deeply analyze contribution each variable model’s results. research results show that all exhibited good performance CWQI, number significantly correlated variables input increased, accuracy also showed gradual improvement trend. Under optimal combination, Extreme Gradient Boosting model demonstrated best performance, root mean square error (RMSE) 0.7081, absolute (MAE) 0.4702, adjusted coefficient determination (Adj.R2) 0.6400. Through analysis, we found concentrations TP (total phosphorus), NH3-N (ammonia nitrogen), CODCr (chemical oxygen demand) have significant impact on CWQI City. implementation system not only enhances pertinence management, but provides richer accurate data support models, further improving reliability models.

Concern over the contamination of freshwater ecosystems with carbon black (CB) is increasing. Here, toxicity CB to phytoplankton (Chlorella pyrenoidosa) was evaluated; upon exposure, median effective concentration for 72 h 23.4 mg/L. underwent significant photooxidation during 15 days light irradiation, although phototransformation generally completed by day 7. Algal growth inhibition induced phototransformed (TCB) at 1 mg/L 64.1% greater than that parent CB. Mechanistically, 1) triggered release highly toxic byproducts, which inhibited algal 18.9%; 2) metabolomic results demonstrate suppression and nitrogen assimilation in cells TCB 13.2-53.7% CB; 3) exhibited reactive oxygen species production ability, more membrane damage. A full-factorial experiment (26+1 runs) showed combined effect temperature suspended mineral particles, as well electrical conductivity, primary environmental factor mediated toxicity, respectively. The predicted Taihu Lake regional distribution, posed a risk aquatic These findings highlight importance particulate contaminant transformation factors when evaluating their risk.
