Pollution
control

four
rounds
longitudinal
surveys
conducted
between
2012
2018
as

China
Labor
Force
Dynamic
Survey.
Employing
multiple
linear
regression
methods,
it
empirically
investigates
impact
pollution
on
well-being
rural
residents.
Empirical
results
show
that
even
after
accounting
for
individual,
village,
family
characteristics,
significantly
affects
happiness
Notably,
water
emerges
having
most
pronounced
residents’
happiness.
Furthermore,
enhances
residents
by
improving
village
environment,
fostering
harmony,
enhancing
physical
mental
health
individuals.
A
heterogeneity
analysis
indicates
exerts
a
stronger
influence
central
western
region
ordinary
villages,
while
its
somewhat
weaker
eastern
region.
Addressing
issue
remains
imperative,
along
with
stimulating
endogenous
drivers
