Exposure to particulate matter (PM) and its chemical constituents in residential microenvironments has become a major health concern worldwide. The oxidative potential (OP) been proposed as metric for estimating the PM capacity induce stress and, consequently, effects. In present study, PM10 was monitored simultaneously bedroom, living room kitchen from three dwellings located small inland town of Portugal perform detailed characterisation organic inorganic determination OP using dithiothreitol (DTT) ascorbic acid (AA) acellular assays. Photometric devices low-volume gravimetric samplers were employed. Bedrooms found be hotspot concentrations (B1 = 22.7 ± 4.56; B2 19.5 6.33; B3 68.1 38.3 µg m-3). PM10-bound elements varied significantly between all dwellings. Lower molecular weight polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) 14 72 times higher than high PAHs bedrooms. average volume-normalised determined by DTT AA assays within 0.01-0.38 0.03-0.53 nmol min−1 m-3 ranges, respectively. Quinones, oxy-aromatic, alkyl-aromatic compounds stood out bedrooms exhibiting significant correlations with assays, Strong positive relationship black carbon, Cu Br observed, indicating common redox active species mainly associated traffic emissions. Sr, Fe, Zn Zr presented dwelling 3, an excellent correlation OP, that Sahara dust intrusion recorded during sampling period house may have contributed formation more thought drive antioxidant depletion responses.

With the increasing application of semi-underground buildings, it is greater significance to understand indoor air quality and personnel satisfaction in different functional areas within such buildings. In this study, a building Xi’an was taken as an example test study areas, questionnaire survey based on conducted at same time. The comprehensive results showed that places with highest concentrations PM2.5 exceeding standard limit were milk tea shops, hair salons, driving schools, presenting 1.01 times, 1.15 1.08 times limit, respectively. Hair salons sites pollution. second most frequent pollutants formaldehyde (HCHO) total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs). contrast wind speed parameters, higher than those outdoors. upper limits for particulate matter diameter less 1.0 microns (PM1.0), 2.5 (PM2.5), TVOCs all limits. PM10, HCHO, speed, carbon monoxide (CO), dioxide (CO2) below This provides data support reference values widespread development
