Per-

polyfluoroalkyl
substances
(PFASs)
have
been
widely
used
in
daily
life
but
they
cause
certain
impacts
on
the
environment
due
to
their
unique
carbon-fluorine
chemical
bonds
that
are
difficult
degrade
environment.
Toxicological
studies
PFASs
alternatives
mainly
focused
vertebrates,
while
terrestrial
aquatic
invertebrates
studied
a
lesser
extent.
As
at
bottom
of
food
chain
play
crucial
role
whole
ecological
chain,
it
is
necessary
investigate
toxicity
invertebrates.
In
this
paper,
progress
toxicological
reviewed,
accumulation
PFASs,
invertebrates,
as
well
neurotoxicity
reproduction
development
summarized.
This
provides
reference
in-depth
comprehensive
assessment
alternatives,
promotes
further
research
valuable
recommendations
for
use
regulation
PFASs.

Associations of Serum Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances with Genotoxic Biomarkers: New Insights from Cross-Sectional and In Vivo Evidence

The
effects
of
perfluoroalkyl
and
polyfluoroalkyl
substances
(PFAS)
on
genomic
stability
remain
unclear.
Here,
a
cross-sectional
study
was
conducted
to
establish
the
associations
PFAS
with
genotoxic
biomarkers.
We
recruited
cohort
453
residents
in
2021
Zhejiang,
China.
Thirty
serum
were
quantified,
alongside
seven
indicators
[five
rDNA
copy
numbers
(rDNA-CN),
mitochondrial
DNA
(mtDNA-CN),
relative
telomere
length
(RTL)]
whole
blood.
Results
showed
that
PFUnDA,
perfluorohexanesulfonic
acid
(PFHxS),
perfluorooctanesulfonic
(PFOS),
6:2
Cl-PFESA,
PFO5DoDA
positively
correlated
rDNA-CN,
while
PFHpA,
PFOA,
PFMOAA
inverse
associations.
PFO4DA
mtDNA-CN.
HFPO-TA,
negatively
associated
RTL,
perfluorononanoic
acid,
PFHxS,
PFOS,
Cl-PFESA
positive
Nonlinear
exposure-response
relationships
also
observed
between
biomarkers
using
restricted
cubic
spline
models.
Furthermore,
mixtures
mtDNA-CN,
showing
highest
contribution
by
quantile-based
g-computation
model.
In
vivo
studies
further
confirmed
increased
mtDNA-CN
male
mice
dose-dependent
manner.
This
provides
novel
evidence
disrupt
stability,
varying
functional
groups
fluoroalkyl(ether)
chain

Microplastics
(MPs)
are
abundant
in
aquatic
environments
and
due
to
their
small
size,
surface
properties,
strong
hydrophobicity,
they
can
easily
sorb
chemicals,
thus
potentially
acting
as
pollutant
carriers.
To
date,
most
studies
investigating
the
sorption
of
chemicals
on
MPs
have
principally
focused
virgin
MPs.
However,
environment
undergo
aging
effects,
which
changes
physical-chemical
properties
aptitude
interact
with
such
per-
polyfluorinated
alkyl
substances
(PFAS)
referred
"forever
chemicals".
In
this
study,
we
compared
behavior
nine
PFAS,
exhibiting
different
naturally
aged
polystyrene
microplastic
(PS-MPs)

affects
PS-MPs

legacy
emerging
PFAS
