The aim of the study was to determine effect type road surface (asphalt and concrete) presence noise barriers (acoustic screens) on magnetic susceptibility chemical composition dust collected from national roads motorways in central southern Poland. Four with asphalt surfaces four concrete were selected for study. Samples taken at three control points: space between barriers, without exits. Magnetic measurements elemental analysis (using an energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer) carried out. results showed high variability no clear differences samples roads. values higher pavements near motorway exits, while open about 1.3 times pavements. A similar relationship observed composition. location sampling point had a greater influence results: spaces or Calculated enrichment factors indicated extremely elements such as Cr, Cu Zn, very Pb only significant moderate other elements.

This study evaluates the impact of phosphogypsum stacks on chemical composition rainwater in Huelva metropolitan area, a metal-polluted area with high cancer and heart disease mortality rates. A total 612 samples were collected using 17 rain gauges located around between January 2021 December 2022. The pH, conductivity, major ions, trace metals detected soluble fraction rainwater. results revealed spatial variability quality. highest values As, Ca2+, Cr, F−, NH4+, Ni, PO43−, SO42−, Sr, V rain-gauges near stacks, exceeding levels Ni according to guideline for drinking water quality from WHO. Additionally, other pollution sources also contributed: regional source (marine factors: Cl−, K+, Mg2+, Na+) local (chemical complexes emissions: Co, Cu, Pb, Zn). downward trend most toxic metal(loid) concentrations wet depositions was as distance affected increased. findings that are relevant metal(loid)s potentially adverse environmental public health effects that, if replicated, could be monitoring policy making.
