Two new Tb(III) metal–organic frameworks based on 4,7-dimethylphenanthroline (dmphen) and flexible ligand trans-1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylate (chdc2−) were synthesized characterized. Their crystallographic formulae are [Tb2(dmphen)2(H2O)2(chdc)3]·2DMF (1; DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide) [Tb2(dmphen)2(NO3)2(chdc)2]·2DMF (2). Among some differences in their synthetic conditions, the most important one is apparently using of terbium(III) nitrate instead chloride as a metal precursor synthesis 2, providing coordination to Tb3+, its subsequent notable structural 1. Compound 1 was found have layered hcb structure with intralayer windows ca. 10 × 8 Å2 size. Its layer-to-layer packing leaves narrow channels running across these windows, 18% total solvent-accessible volume structure. 2 sql smaller 6 Methyl substituents phen ligands do not affect topology framework but seem substantial effect density, well pore resulting MOF. A high 18.4% luminescence quantum yield for 2. emission lifetime 0.695(12) ms belongs typical range phosphorescent Tb(III)-carboxylate complexes. quenching by different nitroaromatic molecules found. linear concentration dependence 3-nitrotoluene 4-nitro-m-xylene at micromolar concentrations during luminescent titration experiments (LOD values 350 nM), suggesting this MOF be viable highly sensitive sensor such substrates.

1-Hydroxypyrene (1-HP) is known as the end product of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). Monitoring content 1-hydroxypyrene in human urine or serum can help measure degree hydrocarbon poisoning body. Tryptophan (Trp), one eight essential amino acids, plays a vital role growth and development. Therefore, exploration promising sensor for instant accurate recognition 1-HP Trp has profound influence on health. Herein, three-dimensional (3D) europium-centered metal–organic framework ([Eu(H2O)5]0.33[Eu(obdb)]·2DMF, Eu-MOF) with amazing air stability, acid–base thermal stability was constructed through coordination interaction between Eu(III) ions V-typed semirigid ligand two isophthalate groups (H4obdb, 4′,4‴-oxybis([1,1′-biphenyl]-3,5-dicarboxylic acid)) under solvothermal condition. As expected, Eu-MOF recognize binary solutions DMF-H2O based significantly luminescent turn-off effect high quenching efficiencies (99.2% 93.8% Trp), charming constants (2.15 × 104 M–1 4.88 low limit detection (1.10 μM 0.73 satisfactory antijamming capability. In addition, Trp, color change from red to blue visible naked eye concentration increases 365 nm UV lamp. Moreover, except solutions, sensing capacities toward are proven be comparable HEPES buffer solution real samples.
