Under the dual carbon mission, more and coal mines will face shutting down in future stop treating mine water drainage, which, if it escapes, may cause severe secondary damage to local groundwater quality. Wudong Coal Mine is a currently active subsurface Xinjiang, China, that shows high-salinity characteristics. To forecast discuss possible quality damages potential solutions, we here introduce model prediction study on effects of pollution by drainage. The protocol first involves creating calibrated 2D flow use FEFLOW software, then designing several solute transport analyses under changing drainage conditions, different source areas treatment pumping wells prominent behavior, as well treatment-affecting factors. It has been shown plays critical role maintaining distribution, without draining, distribution change dramatically, altering capture zone, plume-migrating direction from upstream downstream. A larger could produce higher concentration pollutants pollution-coverage area. reduce pollutant concentrations, with rates can be applied useful remedial measure effectively prevent plume front reaching important drinking irrigation region, Urumqi River. results this give suggestions decision-making support for authorities focused environmental protection region.
