Proper management of wastewater treatment plant side streams in pulp and paper mills is a matter great interest. This study evaluates the environmental impact different strategies biosludge from Finland through Life Cycle Assessment methodology. The base industrial standard practice, incineration for energy recovery ash landfill disposal (Scenario 1), was compared to alternative process hydrothermal carbonization. hydrochar generated carbonization evaluated 2), or use composting nutrient 3). results showed that improved overall performance sludge management, particularly terms consumption greenhouse gas emissions. as soil amendment also resulted significant reduction on other two scenarios. Overall, this highlights potential utilization sustainable options managing mills.
