Nanoplastics and microplastics in agricultural systems have raised significant concerns due to their effects on plant health potential risks human consumption. This review examined these pollutants’ origins, behavior, impacts environments, emphasizing primary contamination pathways, such as irrigation, plastic mulching, sewage sludge application. It explored the transport, accumulation, interactions of particles soil, including ability adsorb other contaminants like pesticides heavy metals. The physiology toxicity were highlighted, along with implications for food quality safety. Chronic exposure pollutants through chain posed notable humans, urgency addressing this issue. Research gaps, toxicokinetics nanoplastics plants identified, underscoring need further investigation. also presented mitigation strategies, improved waste management development sustainable practices.

Alcanivorax bacteria are among the most important hydrocarbon degraders in ocean. Previous studies have focused mainly on degradation processes of hydrocarbons and assessments their roles contributions to marine carbon cycles. Recently, involvement synthetic plastics constantly emerging. Therefore, basis a brief review research progress phylogeny, classification, ecology Alcanivorax, this focuses participation environments, including occurrence plastispheres characteristics various caused by themselves enzymes. In addition, application potential esterases derived from for recycling bio-based polyester plastic waste, such as PLA PHB, is also discussed. Given currently known excellent hydrolysing ability plastic, well existence wide variety understudied genomes, it reasonable assume that its enzymes expected play future waste. Overall, provides reference evaluating biotechnological blue circular economy promoting sustainable management protection environment.

Abstract The Atlantic Forest is one of the richest regions in biodiversity world. Originally biome covered around 15% Brazilian territory. Currently, there are approximately 12.4% forest remnants preserved country. Regarding mangrove areas state São Paulo, 223 km 2 according to Mangrove Atlas, with 120.5 located Baixada Santista. Analysis sediments found estuarine mangroves Santos shows a high concentration microplastics (MPs), generated by industrial processes and human activity, that constitutes today main environmental problems. MPs presented sediment samples quantified using methodology involves drying, sieving, quantification, identification these through FTIR micro‐Raman spectroscopy. two techniques complement each other identify MP filaments fragments common polymer spectra. Furthermore, technique also identified additives flexo blue (blue ink) neolan green 8G (dye) MPs. All polymers (< 5 mm) have wide applications demands various sectors, including packaging, construction, automotive, electronics, textiles.
