Pesticide factories are crucial for maintaining crop yields. However, pesticide factory wastewater contains complex organic pollutants that, if not properly treated, can pose severe risks to aquatic environments and human health. In this study, performed between August December 2022, influent effluent water samples were collected from a treatment facility at factory. The comprehensively screened, the present quantified by non-targeted liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry. Zebrafish embryos used as model organisms assess toxicities of samples. results indicated that processes decreased overall pollutant concentration but number persistent concentrations certain compounds (e.g., nitrogen-containing substances, 2-aminophenol, phenylmethyl ketone) increased during treatments. more toxic than zebrafish in terms development, locomotor behavior, neurotoxicity. suggested currently entirely effective some transformed into new harmful substances treatment. improve our understanding environmental posed effluents will help development stricter pollution control policies advanced techniques. It is important investigate mechanisms involved contaminant transformations develop innovative techniques aimed decreasing potential

Abstract Fipronil is a long-lasting, broad-spectrum insecticide with low residual activity and high efficacy at concentrations. Due to its widespread use long half-life, fipronil can persist during wastewater treatment found even in surface waters. When released into the environment, it accumulate over time lead concentrations soil plant tissues that are harmful both target non-target organisms. Effective removal of crucial agricultural settings. Prolonged environmental exposure this may contribute development pesticide resistance cross-resistance other insecticides used for pest control agro-ecosystems. As reuse treated sewage sludge presents challenges opportunities farmers, study investigates effects irrigation environmentally relevant doses on zucchini plants their main insect pest, Aphis gossypii. The fitness costs A. gossypii reared irrigated higher pyrethrins were investigated laboratory. Traces leaves, but not flowers, after 35-days cumulative exposure. A decrease nymph-to-adult survival dose-dependent reduction fecundity feeding contaminated host was observed. Also, aphids ingested from exhibited same mortality rate as group when exposed sub-lethal dose fipronil. However, natural used, there significant increase insecticide. Our results demonstrate potential highlight risk changes susceptibility pests. This suggests need holistic approach complex dynamics agriculture.
