Mercury pollution in emerging industrial zones and surrounding areas, especially concentration has attracted much attention. So as to clarify the characteristics of Hg environment China’s small medium-sized central urban area Gongzhuling, a traditional agricultural town with high degree industrialization northeast Changchun base, is taken scope. Geological accumulation trin (I geo ) was used study soil mercury contamination Gongzhuling area, latent Er (ecological risk) appraise non-carcinogenic risk assessment using human exposure model. The results showed that 34% samples had higher content than background value province’s (0.04 mg kg −1 ). I rate 9% (index >0). In conclusion, level low, mainly concentrated northwestern part range. highest lowest values from sample were 2.23 214.83, 24% > 40, means they pose moderate or potential ecological risk, most these points are located main route oral ingestion. HQ (non-carcinogenic index) HI (total value) both less 1, it indicates present range does not threat local adult health for time being. This provides reference other assessment, further defines direction future work.

Soil environmental protection has become a pressing issue for sustainable development. This study collected 153 topsoil samples from typical agricultural area to evaluate the contamination characteristics of heavy metal(loid)s (HMs), identify their potential sources, and assess associated ecological human health risks. The results showed that mean concentration HMs was in order Zn > Cr Ni Pb Cu As Cd Hg; all were below background levels, except Cd. geo-accumulation index (Igeo) improved Nemerow (INI) revealed overall pollution level considered as no or slight contamination, while posed low risk according hazard factor (Ei) (PERI). In addition, three main sources identified through positive matrix factorization (PMF) model: natural source (48.2%; contributed As, Ni, Cu, Pb, Zn), coal burning waste disposal (24%; Hg Cd), activities (27.8%; Cr). (HHR) assessment model Monte Carlo simulation applied risks, suggested children faced higher risks than adults, with 45.83% exceeding non-carcinogenic acceptable limit. contributors carcinogenic respectively. findings local management development agriculture.
