Abstract Humans have been consuming milk obtained from domesticated animals since ancient times. Milk is a very complete food with important nutrients that can support life. However, the patterns of consumption shifting. On one hand, due to increase in number people intolerances (to lactose, for example), and on other some trend avoid foods animal origin owing specific conviction (like welfare, example). In this context, study focused two different European Countries evaluation possible differences. The object was sources, namely, cows, no derived fermented dairy products were included. For development study, questionnaire survey applied sample 542 participants both countries using Internet. results showed high percentage consume regularly, usual amount varies between 125 250 mL per day. those who do not milk, most relevant reason pointed out because they feel need it. While France, also like Portugal, lactose intolerance. consumed semi-skimmed preferences are towards plain or it chocolate. Significant differences found white brands, which preferred while consumers prefer commercial as well package, tetra packs Portuguese, French plastic bottles. conclusion, although similar trends among countries, identified be used better plan public policies countries.

This study focuses on the biochemical characterization of a new hydrolase (Thb) expressed from anaerobic Thermoanaerobacterales, which could be used to improve biogas plant efficiency for plastic waste treatment. The specificity Thb various polyesters, including polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polybutylene adipate (PBAT), succinate (PBS), and polylactic acid (PLA), was compared well-studied cutinase HiC Humicola insolens. Based gravimetric analysis quantification (high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)) monomers solubilized upon enzymatic hydrolysis, found more active aromatic while led higher amount hydrolysis products aliphatic polyesters (PBS PLA). Polyester further investigated by scanning electron microscopy infrared spectroscopy. A comparison two enzyme structures indicated character specific regions surface as possible reason these differences in specificity.
