The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, a novel health indicator, has been widely employed to assess insulin resistance (IR). However, its relationship with fine particulate matter (PM) exposure remains inadequately investigated. This study endeavors probe the association between PM2.5 and TyG within population of eastern China determine whether there are disparities in this among diverse subgroups. We conducted an ecological on cohort comprising 39,011 individuals who had undergone at least two physical examinations 2017 2019 First Affiliated Hospital Nanjing Medical University, China. levels concerning short-term were examined using generalized additive model. In overall population, lags 0-7 0-14 days single-pollutant model, it was observed that 10 µg/m3 rise corresponded 0.0021 elevation levels. multi-pollutant models, lags, comparable increase resulted 0.0073 0.0044, respectively. remained significant subgroup analyses. is related index. Controlling air pollution might contribute maintainin normal lipid metabolism function.
