Enhancing awareness of personal cleanliness and antibacterial resistance has intensified the substance request on consumable products. Antibacterial agents that have been commercialized nowadays are produced from inorganic non-renewable substances. This provides several drawbacks, particularly against health environmental issues. Therefore, many scientists work substituting fossil-fuel-based with natural ones such as biomass. Biomass derivatives, abundances biopolymers in world, amount to major compounds including polysaccharides (cellulose, hemicellulose, chitosan) polyphenol (tannin lignin) substances which capable combat growth Gram-positive bacteria Gram-negative bacteria. The scientific community is pursuing significant efforts worldwide to develop environmentally viable film materials from biomass, particularly transparent, high-performance regenerated cellulose (RC) films, replace traditional plastics. However, the inferior mechanical performance and hydrophilic nature of RC films are generally not suitable for use as a substitute plastics in practical applications. Herein, lignin homogenization used synthesize composite films. esterified nanoparticles (ELNPs) with dispersible binding advantages prepared through esterification nanometrization. In presence ELNPs, exhibit higher tensile strength (110.4 MPa), hydrophobic (103.6° water contact angle, 36.6% absorption at 120 min, 1.127 × 10

Atopic dermatitis (AD), a chronic skin condition characterized by itching, redness, and inflammation, is closely associated with heightened levels of endogenous reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the skin. ROS can contribute to onset progression AD through oxidative stress, which leads release proinflammatory cytokines, T-cell differentiation, exacerbation symptoms. In this study, we aim develop therapeutic antioxidant hydrogel patch for potential treatment using lignin, biomass waste material. Lignin contains polyphenol groups that enable it scavenge exhibit properties. The lignin patches, possessing optimized mechanical properties control cross-linker ratio, demonstrated high ROS-scavenging capabilities. Furthermore, excellent biocompatibility skin, exhibiting beneficial protecting human keratinocytes under conditions. When applied an mouse model, effectively reduced epidermal thickness inflamed regions, decreased mast cell infiltration, regulated inflammatory cytokine levels. These findings collectively suggest serves as managing modulating stress its ability.

Lignin possesses unique natural antioxidation and UV-absorption abilities, making it a promising ingredient for sunscreen. However, the industrial lignin produced from pulping or bioethanol production generally shows low efficiency due to limited phenolic hydroxyl content poor compatibility with sunscreen, respectively. To address this issue, molten salt hydrate treatment process was carried out selective cleavage of ether bonds in lignin. After treatment, 2-fold increase observed, improved. The intermolecular forces water measured by an atomic force microscope showed significant decrease −1.46 0.46 mN/m, suggesting efficient hydrophilicity, which promoted We converted into colloidal balls, improved dispersion cream more than tripled sun protection factor compared direct addition
