Urban flooding risks, often overlooked by conventional methods, can be profoundly affected city configurations. However, explainable Artificial Intelligence could provide insights into how urban configurations flooding. This study, taking entered on Shenzhen City, deploys an XGBoost, integrating SHapley Additive exPlanation and Partial Dependency Plots, to assess morphology influences susceptibility. The models strategies presented in this study aimed adapt extreme storms from the perspective of spatial configuration planning. findings underscore varying impact disaster variables flooding, with morphological attributes becoming highly significant during severe inundations. In analysis, mean building volume emerged as a pivotal parameter, SHAP value 0.0107 m contribution ratio 9.70 %. indicates that should optimized minimize risks. It is recommended Mean Building Volume (MBV) maintained within range 1.25 km3 2.5 km3, Standard Deviation (SDBV) kept below 2.814 km3. By harnessing algorithms, offers intricate relationship between forms flood risk, thereby informing development effective adaptation strategies.

Climate change is currently reshaping precipitation patterns, intensifying extremes, and altering runoff dynamics. Particularly susceptible to these impacts are combined sewer systems (CSS), which convey both stormwater wastewater can lead overflow (CSO) discharges during heavy rainfall. Green infrastructure (GI) help mitigate enhance system resilience under historical conditions; however, the quantification of its effect on in a future climate remains unknown literature. This study employs modified Global Resilience Analysis (GRA) framework for continuous simulation quantify impact CSS resilience, particularly CSOs. The assesses efficacy GI interventions (green roofs, permeable pavements, bioretention cells) diverse rainfall scenarios based EURO-CORDEX regional models (2085–2099) three Representative Concentration Pathways (2.6, 4.5, 8.5 W/m2). findings underscore general decline indices across considered. Notably, total yearly CSO discharge volume increases by range 145 % 256 response different scenarios. While proves effective increasing it falls short offsetting change. Among options assessed, green roofs routed pervious areas exhibit highest adaptive capacity, ranging from 9 22 at level, followed pavements with an adaptation capacity between 7 13 %. By linking effects performance, this contributes understanding GI's potential as strategic tool enhancing urban resilience.

ABSTRACT Green-grey infrastructures' implementation has progressed significantly in cities around the globe for sustainable stormwater management. This review study conducted on green-grey optimization represented recent research trends, existing status, possible gaps, and future directions recommendations needed further improvements. The findings show that infrastructures got significant attention recently (after 2012) because of accessibility to computational resources development hydrological-hydraulic models algorithms. Furthermore, is mostly ten countries including China, USA Iran ranked first three places, respectively, delivering their advantages other with essential awareness knowledge. Most previous studies considered particular quantitative qualitative objectives these were at smaller retrofitting scales, therefore, need expand scope towards socio-ecological consideration larger areas or multi-stage planning, designing, implementation. Moreover, recommended consider stakeholders’ participation preliminary planning designing stages successful management approaches. Lastly, surrogate-based approaches instead traditional methods can overcome burden time future.

Urban stormwater management is a critical challenge facing cities globally, with natural-based solutions (NBS) emerging as promising approach for mitigating the impacts of urban runoff. This bibliometric review examined research trends and hot topics related to NBS management. The study utilized combination qualitative quantitative methods analyze 176 articles from Web Science database, covering period 2016 2022. Results showed that widely researched topic growing trend in publications recent years, led by United States, China, several European countries. majority were papers (82%) focus on environmental performance rather than social economic dimensions. Quantitative more frequently used articles, particularly statistical analysis/modeling. Interviews discussions most common method used. identified relevant countries, affiliations, authors, journals field. Furthermore, highlighted, including ecosystem services, climate change, sustainability. also emphasized future perspective should interdisciplinary collaborative research, scaling up mainstreaming NBS, exploring new ways integrating different disciplines stakeholders process. findings this provided insights into current state offer valuable information researchers, policymakers, practitioners field
