Construction organisations and governments need to seek a sustainable solution optimise resource consumption, minimise energy use, reduce glasshouse gas emissions caused by construction operations as the building stock grows. The circular economy (CE) has become promising option for these policymakers in many countries owing its ability close material loops throughout lifecycle. Despite importance, application of CE is limited, applicability different aspects remains under-researched. purpose this research discover all applicable viewpoints on industry that narrow or loops. To investigate development circularity construction, systematic literature review following Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method was performed integrating bibliometric analysis. 78 articles were rigorously selected conduct critical content analysis classify extant literature. This study classified into eight themes: 1) business models; 2) R principles; 3) demolition waste; 4) economic effect CE; 5) greenhouse emissions; 6) role digital technological tools; 7) offsite construction; 8) life cycle assessment. Based analysis, theoretical interrelationships between themes identified, along with future avenues. Findings highlighted significance (1) encouraging use recycled materials enhancing economies scale; (2) regulatory bodies businesses step achieve (3) impact supply chain complexities minimising carbon (4) necessity investing training industry. Further needed determine technologies order fully realise benefits adoption. An all-inclusive adoption across entire cycle, taking account diverse perspectives, could contribute closing construction.
