Urban agglomerations, as hubs of population, economic activity, and energy consumption, significantly contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. The interconnected infrastructure, networks, shared systems these regions create complex emission dynamics that cannot be effectively managed through isolated city-level strategies. However, also present unique opportunities for innovation, policy implementation, resource optimization, making them crucial focal points in efforts reduce carbon This study examines China’s three major urban agglomerations: the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region. Utilizing data from 2005 2020 a comprehensive evaluation model (BCPCAM), research offers more profound insights into socio-economic factors collaborative mechanisms influencing trends, facilitating development targeted strategies sustainable neutrality. findings indicate (1) control can progress synergistically some extent, economically advanced cities like Beijing Shanghai have achieved their peaks earlier; (2) natural endowment affects emissions, with resource-rich such Tangshan Handan, where fossil fuels dominate mix, facing considerable challenges reducing emissions; (3) notable differences exist growth patterns emissions between rural buildings, underscoring need tailored reduction policies.

In this paper, the Hefei metropolitan area is selected as research object to measure industrial carbon emissions in during 2010–2022. The main contribution deeply analyze characteristics of spatial correlation network with modified gravity model and social analysis(SNA), explore driving factors its formation quadratic assignment procedure(QAP). It establishes foundation for differentiated green city development policies. results show that (1) emission showed a fluctuating rising trend, forming strongly connected patterna; (2) overall structure stable, but tightness relationship among cities not enough hierarchy evident; (3) Huainan are centers area, position each obviously unbalanced; (4) Urbanization level, economic technological innovation, level opening up exert considerable influence on establishment evolution pertaining within area.

Urbanization has greatly altered Earth’s surface form, and land use changes can lead to significant in carbon emissions. However, how these affect ecosystems remains unclear. Therefore, this study calculated the absorption emissions 31 Chinese provinces using high-resolution (300 m) data. Subsequently, a flow model was used evaluate transfer that occurred from every province between 2000 2020. The standard deviation ellipse analytic techniques were also employed research spatiotemporal evolution features of various economic zones. Furthermore, flux utility analysis approaches ecological network quantitatively examine interaction relationship two metabolism uses. results revealed continuous expansion China’s construction reduced area agricultural land, resulting industrial (53.14%) urban (39.38%) being main contributors total Among them, five eastern Hebei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangdong had more than 100 million tons. From 2020, center gravity shifted significantly Henan Province Gansu Province. exploitation control dominated types. It is mostly found Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia provinces. findings could provide relevant policy implications for government mitigate on land.
