Pharmaceutical compounds are an integral part of our life. With the rise in different types pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs), which pose a threat due to accumulation, safe methods treatment disposal ought be resorted to. Complete degradation many hazardous is possible by such as advanced oxidation (AOMs): photocatalysis, Fenton, electro-Fenton, ozonation; adsorption; filtration; cavitation, ultrasonic methods; phytoremediation. This manuscript attempts give holistic review on probable elimination applicable for wastewater. Photocatalysis, combined hybrid techniques have been found most evolving from futuristic viewpoint, environmental consciousness, cost efficacy. Several including removal PPCP's discussed this paper. Nearly complete obtained using light-induced systems (UV radiation or visible light) with TiO2 catalyst, at acidic pH photocatalytic treatment, well other schemes merged electro-Fenton conventional systems.
