The novel ternary composites BiOBr-TiO2-attapulgite (BTA) were synthesized using a simple hydrothermal and water-bath method, exhibiting excellent photocatalytic performance to multiple xanthates. For the BTA photocatalyst, TiO2 BiOBr uniformly loaded onto surface of acid-activated attapulgite. As widely used collector in mining processes, sodium ethyl-xanthate (SEX) was selected as target pollutant due its high toxicity. photocatalyst demonstrated significantly higher adsorption degradation compared nanoparticles, nanosheets, BiOBr-TiO2 heterojunction. Structural characterization experimental results indicated that exceptional efficiency mainly attributed formation heterojunction between TiO2, well presence additional active sites provided by Free radical scavenging experiments EPR confirmed photogenerated holes predominant species photodegrading SEX throughout entire experiment. LC-MS insight into potential pathways SEX. This research demonstrates BTA, triple composite material, achieves rapid complete 20 mg/L within min. work presents approach synthesize mineral-based photocatalysts, which have broad prospects for application flotation wastewater treatment.
