This review extensively discusses current developments in bimetallic nanoparticle–GO and nanoparticle–MOF nanocomposites as potential catalysts for HER, along with their different synthesis methodologies, structural characteristics, catalytic mechanisms. The photoelectrocatalytic performance of these was also compared based on parameters such Tafel slope, density, onset potential, turnover frequency, hydrogen yield, activation energy, stability, durability. shows that the commonly used metal alloys nanoparticle–GO-based HERs include Pt-based (e.g., PtNi, PtCo, PtCu, PtAu, PtSn), Pd-based PdAu, PdAg, PdPt) or other combinations, AuNi, AuRu, etc., while most electrolyte sources are H2SO4 KOH. For nanoparticle MOF-based catalysts, PtCu), PdCu, PdCr), Ni-based NiMo, NiTi, NiAg, NiCo) took lead, KOH being frequently source. Lastly, addresses challenges prospects, highlighting opportunities further optimization technological integration promising alternative photo/electrocatalysts future production storage.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have become a hot spot in the area of functional materials and undergone rapid development wide range fields 21st century. However, scalable application MOFs is still constrained by high production cost at front end. Additionally, systematic discussion reuse spent lacking. Encouragingly, an increasing number studies been focusing on low-cost recycling MOF-based materials, providing feasible solutions for resource recovery reduction. To stimulate future enthusiasm interest realizing blue economy MOFs, ranging from front-end to terminal disposal, we presented summarized state-of-the-art progress sustainable synthesis, separation, MOFs. Based existing challenges, also propose fit-for-purpose directions MOF field move toward economy.
