In the present study, a zeolitic imidazolate framework with mixed ligands, ZIF-8-90, was synthesized and embedded into an ultrathin polydimethyldiethoxysilane (PDMDES) matrix to prepare ZIF-8-90/PDMDES membrane (MMM) for enhanced recovery of alcohols from dilute aqueous solutions via pervaporation, using facile solution coating method. The ZIF-8-90 particles demonstrated superior hydrophobicity thermal stability compared those both ZIF-8 ZIF-90 particles. Furthermore, hydrophobicity, stability, sorption ability MMM were significantly improved, attributed incorporation mixed-ligand ZIF-8-90. Notably, MMMs displayed two distinct cross-sectional morphologies: (1) enveloped by PDMDES polymer forming filler bulges (2) accumulation resembling brick-wall-like structure. incorporating 2.5 wt % exhibited optimal performance among fabricated various loadings, spanning 0 3.2 %. effects feed concentrations operation temperatures systematically investigated. best pervaporation achieved ZIF-8-90-filled MMM, effectively separating 5.0 ethanol/water mixture at 60 °C, yielding distinguished total flux 7.70 kg·m–2·h–1, improved separation factor 9.96, extraordinarily high PSI 68.99 kg·m–2·h–1. Comparative analyses highlighted over ZIF-8/PDMDES ZIF-90/PDMDES other MMMs, underscoring its potential practical applications in alcohol recovery.
