In this study, we synthesized two nanocomposites, cross-linked PVA/HKUST and PVA/ZIF-67, by integrating metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) into electrospun polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Several characterization techniques including FTIR, XRD, ICP, SEM, TGA, UV–Vis, zeta potential, N2 adsorption–desorption were employed. The adsorption performance of the composites for cefixime (CFX) removal was assessed under varying conditions such as MOF content, contact time, pH, initial CFX concentration, temperature. ZIF-67 HKUST contribute to high efficiency providing a porous structure with surface area, facilitating interactions molecules, enhancing overall stability composite material in process. Langmuir isotherm model revealed maximum capacity 282.5 mg/g 211.4 PVA/ZIF-67. Notably, rapidly removed within 50 min, demonstrating potential these nanofibers wastewater treatment. However, after six cycles, efficiencies declined from 88 74% 85 59%

Abstract Zeolite imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8), which is a special subgroup of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), was synthesized and modified by ethylenediamine (ZIF-8-EDA) to prepare an efficient adsorbent for the high sorption Cd 2+ ions from solution. The ZIF-8 were characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), transmission (TEM) analysis. optimum conditions dosage adsorbent, initial ion concentration, pH, contact time 0.05 g/l, 50 mg/l, 6, 60 min, respectively, cadmium aqueous solutions removal efficiency 89.7% 93.5% ZIF-8-EDA. Adsorption kinetics equilibrium data analyzed using Langmuir Freundlich equations. model fitted better than model. According equation, maximum uptake 294.11(mg/g). calculated thermodynamic parameters (ΔG°, ΔH°, ΔS°) indicated that adsorption process feasible, spontaneous, endothermic at 20–50 °C. Based on results, amino functionalized had improved performance due replacing starting linker organic ligands effective functional groups, leading chemical coordination interaction metal non-bonding pair electrons N atoms group. selectivity toward ZIF-8-EDA > Pb Ni ‏.
