Coal tar is a valuable chemical raw material derived from coal coking/pyrolysis. It rich in important chemicals and intermediates that cannot be produced by the petrochemical industry plays crucial role world's supply. phenols, which are materials for synthetic fibers, engineering plastics, pesticides, medicine, preservatives, plasticizers, spices, dye intermediates. In this paper, based on basic properties of distribution research progress composition, structure, extraction technology phenols was analyzed, mechanisms existing technologies (acid–base extraction, solvent dissolution, complexation adsorption separation, liquid–liquid etc.) were discussed. The advantages disadvantages relevant their practical applications also compared to analogies. Based summary experience our team, development new extracting under investigation.
