As a realistic decontamination strategy and an economically critical component of long-term water surveillance, detailed understanding electrocoagulation processes (ECP) for the remediation contaminants remains vital. When compared to chemical coagulation, ECP delivers greater removal capacities comparable particles does not require any additions. The EC approach generates numerous metal ions in solution by applying electrical current. resultant electro-generated coagulants comprise hydroxides (MeOH-), which function as efficient adsorbent organic pollutants (OPs) inorganic (IOPs), causing formation rise flocs onto electrolyte surface via sweep flotation. For deeper comprehension wastewater, this research critically examines existing trends. It focuses on mechanistic insights electrodes systems, addition myriad catalysts influence various operational parameters reaction mechanism. Ultimately, study builds freshly published uncover varied applications, namely strategies that integrate with treatment process. prospects are promising multifaceted owing its adaptable capabilities, integration possibilities other advantages.

ABSTRACT This study introduces a Moringa oleifera protein‐alginate complex (MPAC) as an effective anti‐scaling material for reverse osmosis (RO) desalination of brackish groundwater. Extracted protein (MP) combined with sodium alginate (Alg) forms stable complexes applied thin film on polyamide (PA) RO membranes. Characterization techniques, including FTIR, SEM, TGA, DLS, and XRD, confirmed the structure, morphology, thermal stability, particle size (200–350 nm), zeta potential (−35 to −45 mV), semi‐crystallinity MPAC. Desalination tests showed significant reduction in scaling 60% calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) 45% sulfate (CaSO 4 over 72 h, water flux sustained at 90%–95% salt rejection above 98%. The MPAC's performance is due its chelation magnesium ions, forming barrier that prevents scale nucleation. sustainable, scalable improves membrane efficiency, future work planned optimize composition broader applications.

Enhancing the sustainability of freshwater generation through electrodialysis (ED) can be achieved by integrating this process with readily available solar energy. Photo‐ED consists adding a photoactive coating on one electrodes to facilitate ion transport when exposed light. In study, an experimental and life cycle assessment investigation has been conducted conventional ED photo‐ED system desalinate brackish water.
