Abstract The generation of e‐waste from lithium ion batteries (LIBs) is rapidly increasing due to the rising utilization LIBs in portable electronics, and electric vehicles, with an average life span 3–5 years. disposal spent a major environmental concern presence high percentages toxic heavy metals corrosive electrolytes. Efficient sustainable recycling has become immensely important, both environmentally circular economy perspective, as serve secondary sources critical needed for renewable energy conversion storage systems. We provide concise review metal recovery using waste biomass green approach resource generation, addition valorization biomass. Biomass used recover LIBs, acting lixivient, reductant, absorbent. have also discussed reverse strategy utilizing ‘black mass’ catalyst value‐added products. concept “circular economy” highlighted “killing two birds one stone” through vice versa.
