The efficient hydrogenation of 1-butene is an industrially significant reaction for producing fuels and value-added chemicals. However, achieving high catalytic efficiency stability remains challenging, particularly cost-effective materials, such as Ni. In this study, we developed a porous Ni-coated Ni foam catalyst by electrostatic spray deposition to address these challenges. exhibited turnover frequency approximately 10 times higher than that either or alone. This enhancement was attributed the formation interfacial active sites, which facilitated improved reactant adsorption activation during hydrogenation. technique ensured uniform controlled coating, enabling precise engineering structure interface. post-deposition heat treatment further optimized enhance structural integrity performance. study highlights importance interface optimization in design provides valuable insights into development Ni-based catalysts industrial applications. These findings emphasize potential versatile method fabricating advanced systems.

Methylamines, including monomethylamine (MMA), dimethylamine (DMA), and trimethylamine (TMA), are essential industrial intermediates. However, traditional catalysts suffer from poor product selectivity being phased out due to shifting market demands. Zeolites have emerged as promising alternatives their high activity superior selectivity. Large- medium-pore zeolites require modifications enhance MMA- DMA-selectivity by reducing pore size, whereas small-pore inherently exhibit for MMA DMA without modification. production costs hindered large-scale commercialization. Research efforts now focused on developing cost-effective shift methylamine synthesis equilibrium-driven (balancing) selective (unbalancing) processes. This review explores the performance of zeolite-based in synthesis, highlighting key factors influencing Additionally, it examines challenges associated with discusses strategies application.
