Energy efficiency is crucial for the sustainable operation of industrial and urban sectors. However, practicing engineers seldom have access to open-source tools that can readily evaluate compare scenarios. In this work, a novel web-based tool called ROSMOSE developed proposed analyzing energy systems comparing potential process integration options. This optimization framework computes graphically represents minimum requirements, pinch temperatures, grand integrated composite curves systems. Results are used design utility meet demands while minimizing specified objective function such as total cost or environmental impacts. The Quarto environment, in which built, allows various software tools, database handling, modeling suites, solvers, along with interactive data visualization reporting tools. paper discusses application site dairy consisting milk treatment, cream, cheese production demonstrate features. Other options, use heat pumps solar panels soft drinks biogas, evaluated. From 75% 90% fuel savings up 80% CO2 emissions reduction plant identified by optimizing integration. Moreover, complete electrification via eliminates any gas needs results 85% 96% reduction. Activating renewable electricity sources, power, plausible scenario. Finally, optimized waste management strategies lead energy-autonomous net export biogas grid but reduce output due prioritizing from whey. manner, decision-makers clear performance comparison list system configurations draw informed trade-offs. A similar approach could be adopted aid decision-making other using ROSMOSE.

This paper provides a comprehensive overview of policies and incentives aimed at promoting high-temperature heat pumps (HTHPs) globally. It examines the various strategies employed by different countries to encourage adoption HTHPs, highlighting both opportunities barriers encountered in these efforts. The analysis includes review financial incentives, regulatory measures, technological initiatives designed facilitate integration HTHPs into industrial applications. By describing approaches across regions, this identifies best practices potential pitfalls, offering nuanced understanding how policy frameworks impact deployment HTHPs. Additionally, explores challenges that influence effectiveness policies. findings underscore critical role supportive overcoming technical economic barriers, ultimately fostering widespread use as viable solution for reducing emissions advancing global decarbonization goals. Furthermore, utilizing electricity from renewable energy sources (RESs), can also contribute grid stability peaks. aspect enhances RESs mix, creating more resilient optimizing consumption patterns
