Extensive production of recombinant protein is essential for use in various fields. Bacterial cells, especially the Escherichia coli (E. coli) expression system, are widely used proteins due to their advantages time and cost. However, formation inclusion bodies (IBs) caused by a significant issue. Therefore, precise tool detection IBs high demand. In this study, we demonstrated label-free rapid sensing platform E. using terahertz-time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) system terahertz metamaterials. The was based on local polarity difference between samples with induced (positive) non-induced (negative) overexpression. positive resulted decrease compared negative samples. This difference, strongly related intermolecular interactions, influenced THz absorption as regime involves weak vibrational modes. Experimental results showed that transmittance (ΔT) resonance frequency shift (Δf) were significantly different samples, confirming effectiveness our method. Specifically, exhibited ΔT value 26.57% Δf 0.12 THz, while 31.83% 0.14 THz. These highlight capability detect rapidly accurately.

Lactic acid (LA) plays an essential role as a biochemical indicator in life, the detection and identification of chiral LAs have wide range applications. A method to detect LA enantiomers (D-LA L-LA) by using achiral terahertz (THz) electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) metasurface sensor is proposed. The samples are measured, parameters extracted from circular polarization transmission coefficients, theoretical analysis experiment combined verify principle recognize LAs. quantitative qualitative recognition can be realized significant difference spectrum at characteristic frequency. limit reaches 0.01 μg/mL, sensing sensitivity L-LA, D-LA, DL-LA (achiral, racemate) 0.28 THz/(mg/mL), 0.07 THz/(mg/mL) 0.13 respectively. proposed further extended bio-samples, showing great potential biomedical applications, food safety inspection, environmental monitoring.

Here, we present a novel flexible terahertz (THz) biosensor consisting of electromagnetic-induced transparency-like metasurfaces and GaN/graphene van der Waals heterostructure (vdWH), which can achieve multidimensional ultrasensitive detection aspartic acid. The proposed could detect the concentration limit acid with 10.6 fg/mL by change in transmission amplitude, phase difference, group delay. This internal mechanism be explained energy band structure vdWH different concentrations As increases, conduction GaN approaches Fermi level, level graphene changes, resulting variations THz In addition, used coupled harmonic oscillator mode to explain sensing mechanism. study provides new method for trace elements.
