The process of carbon (C) sequestration plays an important role in soil fertility and productivity, yet most studies have focused on the individual bacterial community. However, in-depth mechanistic understanding how nematodes interact with community to regulate C accumulation is still lacking. We conducted a 10-year field experiment explore nematode communities determine influence nematode-bacteria interactions mineralization, microbial metabolic quotient ( q CO 2 ), use efficiency (CUE) under organic material amendments, including chemical fertilizers straw (NS), pig manure (NSM), fertilizer biochar (NB). Here, our results showed abundance was significantly higher NS, NSM, NB treatments than (N) treatment, highest NSM treatment. enrichment index functional dispersion were treatment N, treatments, while channel followed opposite pattern. Structural equation modeling indicated that potential predation pressure induced by may improve abundance, positive cascading effects sequestration. Collectively, study highlights importance nematode-microorganism mediating dynamics amendments.

To optimize soil health, land use, and management decisions need to be guided by an understanding of the underlying health. Although widely used fertilizers guarantee crop production, they ultimately damage agricultural environmental quality threaten overall food chain safety. Thus, integrative assessment considering both safety fertility is required for sustainable development long-term fertilization systems. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive health using 20 physical, chemical, biological indicators assessed them according four heavy metals—copper, zinc, cadmium, lead. This experiment was in area where there ongoing, 23-year-long typical red region southern China, including treatments common inorganic chemical fertilizer (CF), CF mixed with micronutrients (CF + T), pig manure (PM), PM (PM T). assess quality, selected minimum data set consisting water-stable aggregates mean weight diameter, available phosphorus, total nitrogen, microbial biomass carbon, dehydrogenase activity. The results revealed that followed order T ≈ > CF. We also modified potential ecological risk index quality. approach considered acid-soluble exchangeable fraction metals as bioavailability component. Both treated soils were significantly contaminated metals, particularly large amounts Cd contamination. escalated from CF, T, which indicated use allowed more fertile relative standard fertilization. Moreover, applying additional had significant influence on fertility. Therefore, our study organic beneficial fertility; however, these benefits coupled limitations regarding metal Collectively, provides better supporting method strategies.
