While the use of steel hysteretic dampers has spread in last decade for both new and retrofitted constructions, Italian Building Code (IBC), as well Eurocode 8, does not provide specific recommendations design verification structures equipped with this technology. Due to their strong non-linear behavior, effectiveness these systems must be verified through analyses. Non-Linear Time-History analyses (NLTHAs) are most reliable method, but they computationally expensive. The aim study is investigate reliability static procedures, allowed by IBC an alternative NLTHAs, analysis buildings devices provided high damping capability. A parametric conducted on two reinforced concrete residential buildings, typical heritage, braces characterized different stiffness ductility values. retrofit using analyses, dynamic, considering either natural or artificial accelerograms, deems them equivalent. Within work, reference made only IBC; however, given significant similarity between European code, outcomes expected have a broader impact limited context. Therefore, although work preliminary study, it believed offer some initial insights topic serve foundation more in-depth that could lead regulatory revision subject.

Abstract Recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) has been widely used in practical engineering construction. However, the ability of buildings to resist wind-induced vibration and earthquake effects plays an important role building safety. It is urgent ensure that recycled still good anti-vibration within allowable strength range. By conducting damping tests on specimens, results show performance RAC better improved compared with natural concrete. Moreover, influence internal factors aggregates external environmental conditions can be determined, corresponding ratio prediction models constructed. current have limitations theory practice. The existing a large span independent variables do not consider gradual carbonation effect actual environment over time. To overcome these limitations, new model proposed. Based replacement rate (RAs) amplitude excitation force, modified admixtures considered, formula In addition, mechanism further demonstrated explained from macroscopic aspect specimen profile microscopic electron microscopy tests. found that, considering both cost factors, when 40%.
