The expansion of the industrial sector and continuous increase in population are reasons for ever-increasing demand electricity, which directly burdens central grid. Absence remoteness from grid make off-grid power generation most reliable source electricity to meet needs peripheral areas. Electrification remote areas through decentralized using renewable energy sources has emerged as a low-cost practically viable solution. Domestic-level trading makes system more cost-effective. This study develops hybrid model consisting PV diesel generators electrify village, considering feasibility analysis consumer-prosumer-based potential. Imported fuels used up to 50% of Sri Lanka's export income and contributed the recent crippling energy crisis. This study explores possibility using island's indigenous renewable resources secure supply for power, heat, transport desalination sectors by year 2050. The costs, CO2 emissions land use requirements system transition pathways are examined. An model in technology-rich, hourly multi-region resolution was applied. In an entirely renewables-based system, cumulative cost 2050 is estimated be 206 billion €, while scenario with least growth renewables dominated fossil fuels, respective 290 €. The Government of India has indicated that hydrogen as an energy carrier will be a key part its decarbonization solutions. Greater policy focus been noticed on green produced from electrolysis using renewable-powered electricity. That said, some other missions, such the National Coal Gasification Mission, could directly tie into blue production (from fossil fuels with CO2 storage). In this paper, we suggest two major initiatives for effective deployment hydrogen. These include comprehensive measurement programme fugitive emissions and level-playing field to ensure parity among sources. Moreover, also provide insights why coalbed methane underground coal gasification somewhat overlooked feedstock doing so, paper outlines current state-of-the-art in India, recommendations scale-up.
