Numerical weather prediction (NWP) is widely used for day-ahead solar irradiance forecast, which essential applications in energy market and management of different scales ranging from public level to civil level. In the literature, many NWP correction methods have been proposed obtain more accurate forecast. However, when facing real-world scenarios, it crucial efficiently design corresponding schemes, require a detailed reliable error evaluation foundation. To solve this problem, performance Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) forecast evaluated under conditions seasons. The statistical analysis was conducted at each time day GHI with both publicly available datasets actual field dataset, aiming explore characteristics forecasts. results demonstrate variations across diverse seasons, indicates that future corrections should be developed For conditions, forecasts lowest accuracy during overcast followed by cloudy while highest observed sunny conditions. The current grid code in China regard to solar forecasting is, my opinion, underdeveloped, especially contrast the rate at which photovoltaics are being installed.
