Abstract Previously, various approaches and methods have been developed for the construction of high performance perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The lead (Pb)‐based PSCs demonstrated excellent but suffers from low stability presence toxic Pb. Thus, a rapid surge in development Pb free has observed. Recently, elements such as germanium (Ge), bismuth, tin antimony based materials were adopted absorber materials. Among these, Ge halide received significant attention PSCs. Despite exceptional optoelectronic properties Ge‐based structures, efficiency resulting remains lower compared to their Pb‐based there interest simulation studies using cell capacitance simulation‐one dimensional (SCAPS‐1D) method. Numerous reports emerged different research groups simulating via SCAPS‐1D. These shown promise aiding Pb‐free In this mini‐review, previously reported literature on experimental SCAPS‐1D had amassed. We believe that present mini review article will attract scientific researchers engaged theoretical investigations
