The electromagnetic railgun, a novel kinetic energy weapon, has found utility in military operations due to its enhanced safety features and superior precision. This study investigates the enhancement of wear resistance CuCrZr rails through plasma cladding CuCrZr-CeO2 coatings with varying Cerium dioxide (CeO2) content. To enhance track, CeO2 content was investigated. impact (0%, 0.1%, 0.15%, 0.2%, 0.25%, 0.3%) on microstructure, phase composition, mechanical properties coating assessed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), EDS(Energy Dispersive Spectrometer) surface scanning, friction tests, hardness analysis. findings indicate that 0.15% leads transition coating’s microstructure from columnar equiaxed crystals, densest grain structure. Beyond CeO2, pore defects increase, compromising properties. containing exhibits optimal performance, 75.3, representing 5.31% increase compared CeO2-free coatings. Under 10 N load, coefficient decreases by approximately 17.9% about 0.64. Moreover, minimum mass is reduced 44.7% 3.87 mg. aforementioned research hold immense importance extending lifespan railgun improving operational efficiency.
