The recently proposed single-electrode fuel cell (SEFC) is based on the chemovoltaic effect in a semiconductor p-n junction and as hybrid device also allows operation photovoltaic cell. This study investigates temperature dependence of GaAs/GaInP double heterojunction SEFC devices presence both liquid vapor methanol fuel. experimental results reveal that increasing from room to around 45 °C significantly enhances cell's performance by accelerating electrochemical oxidation reduction reactions injecting electrons holes into bands. However, further increase temperature, nearing boiling point methanol, leads adverse effects when submerged but still shows moderate improvement operating with vapor-phase These provide insight kinetics solar-fuel device.
