Abstract Mechanically responsive polymer materials have garnered significant interest due to their unique ability respond external forces, leading groundbreaking applications in visual stress mapping and damage detection. However, use fibers remains relatively unexplored. In this study, a mechanoresponsive is synthesized by incorporating spiropyran (SP) mechanophore into polyurethane backbone. Based on polyurethane, mechanochromic are fabricated via solution spinning. The exhibits clear color change from colorless blue when subjected tensile or ultraviolet irradiation, triggered the activation of SP mechanophore. Furthermore, mechanical sensitivity can be tailored adjusting orientation chains through hot stretching. Fibers higher pre‐stretching during post‐processing displayed response at lower strain levels. Various pre‐stretched then made barcode, which distinct dynamic information innovative application function fibers, capable storing response, offers novel approach development anti‐counterfeit fibers.
