As an emerging porous crystalline organic material, the covalent frameworks (COFs) are given more and attention in many fields, such as gas storage separation, catalysis, energy conversion, luminescent devices, drug delivery, pollutant adsorption removal, analysis detection due to their special advantages of high crystallinity, flexible designability, controllable porosities topologies, intrinsic chemical thermal stability. In recent years, COFs applied analytical chemistry, for instance, chromatography, solid-phase microextraction, colorimetric sensing, surface-enhanced Raman scattering electroanalytical chemistry. The decorated electrodes show performance detecting trace substances with remarkable selectivity sensitivity, heavy metal ions, glucose, hydrogen peroxide, drugs, antibiotics, explosives, phenolic compounds, pesticides, disease metabolites so on. This review mainly summarized application COF based electrochemical sensor according different target analytes.

Phthalic acid esters (PAEs) are ubiquitous environmental contaminants, and their real-time monitoring removal remain challenging. Herein, a point-of-use (POU) device integrating adsorption, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), strategy was developed realized ultrafast on-site determination of PAEs cleanup them from water. A piece flexible melamine sponge (MS) coated with gold nanostars (AuNSs) metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), thus obtaining SERS activity adsorption capacity. Based on this multifunctional AuNSs@MOFs/MS composite, clear trends were observed between signal intensity concentration di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) dibutyl phthalate (DBP). The method detection limits DEHP DBP calculated to be 0.75 × 10–7 0.67 M in water, respectively, proving good sensitivity. Furthermore, POU exhibited satisfactory capacity (∼82.3 g/g for ∼90.0 DEHP), high efficiency (equilibrium 100 s), regeneration capability (removal >70% after 5 cycles). applicability verified by its performance real water matrices. whole process could completed within min. Covalent organic framework (COF)-TpBD was grafted on the arrayed nanopores of stainless steel fiber (SSF) with (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane as cross-linking agent. The prepared SSF bonded COF-TpBD showed high thermal and chemical stability excellent repeatability. also used for solid-phase microextraction (SPME) seven kinds polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in actual water samples, followed by gas chromatography flame ionization detection (GC-FID) determination, which exhibited low limits (LODs), good relative standard deviation (RSD) recoveries.
