Neonicotinoids are a group of neurotoxic insecticides that possess significant threats not only to the environment but also human health. This underlines importance developing efficient and accurate tools detect neonicotinoids track their behavior. Aptamers have been widely used as stable, efficient, specific biorecognition molecules in biosensors. Nonetheless, no aptasensor was reported for multiplexed detection neonicotinoids. Herein, graphene-based electrochemical biosensor fabricated with three aptamers imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin. The imidacloprid-specific aptamer underwent truncation, which showed strong affinity KD = 12.8 nM compared 20.1 original sequence when studied differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Screen printed electrodes were coated graphene oxide. After reduction, 1-pyrenebutyric acid functionalize covalently immobilize aptamers. characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) ensure successful fabrication. displayed excellent sensitivity aptasensors linear ranges from 0.01 ng/mL 100 It demonstrated selectivity analytes. Spiked extracts tomato rice samples analyzed using our aptasensor, results validated through conventional chromatography assays.
