Microplastics (MPs) are currently a serious environmental problem, primarily due to their persistence in the environment, low concentration, and difficulty detection disposal. MPs have also been detected humans shown be harmful. Although there methodologies for recovery or elimination most water treatment plants, significant portion still bypasses these systems. It is this percentage that we must try eliminate. In addition finding new of MPs, it important find materials adapted process. context, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) high-versatility compounds can synthesized using different techniques obtain with properties, such as porosity, morphology, conductivity, etc. These adsorb ways, electrostatic interaction, bond formation, etc., they obtained by containing metals catalyze reactions formation highly reactive species oxidize MPs. This review examines how MOF gained attention adsorption-based removal discusses problems associated possible solutions.
