Management of sustainable transportation currently is one the most important aspects a country's or region's development from an economic and social point view considering net zero requirements The use electric vehicles (EVs) recognized as essential means achieving global net-zero emission goals. To promote their widespread adoption, challenges they face must be addressed. These are divided into several categories: infrastructure, costs, energy transition, awareness, market-related challenges. Using a qualitative case-study approach, we assess the barriers and policy challenges that companies in EU battery sector face implementing circularity. The study involves sample of 20 drawn from combination purposeful snowball sampling methods. Empirical data were collected through in-depth interviews. results show EU's revised framework for batteries, high-level strategies financial support research projects can be enabling factors adopting circularity approaches. At same time, interviews reveal uncertainties about requirements Batteries Regulation on sharing, responsibility end-of-life (EoL) management carbon footprint. Other key concerns identified are complex cross-border movement EoL lack ecodesign inconsistent waste classification frameworks. Our suggest mix affecting extends to various domains, which highlights importance ensuring coherence between instruments objectives.

The global shift towards sustainability is driving the electrification of transportation and adoption clean energy storage solutions, moving away from internal combustion engines. This transition significantly impacts lithium-ion battery production in electric vehicle (EV) market. paper summarizes specialized topics to highlight regional differences specific challenges related batteries, focusing on how pollution gas consumption, distribution, usage, lithium affects society. EV batteries offer promising opportunities for a sustainable future, considering their economic environmental importance understanding lifecycle. analysis delves into recovery materials various methods extracting manufacturing batteries. Efficient crucial globally significant, with liquid extraction presenting more environmentally friendly option. By addressing these challenges, this provides an overview rationale behind supporting future EVs.

Despite the increasing interest in second-life of electric vehicle batteries, characteristics supply chains to support such products are yet be developed. The purpose this paper is investigate key chain required effectively accommodate circular models for batteries. Through a longitudinal case study, we map possible application areas and customer segments, necessary activities, potential actors that might emerge future these products. findings discussed relation product-oriented, use-oriented, result-oriented models. suggested their comparisons provide insights into how different dimensions configured business models, advantages, disadvantages, prerequisites associated by each model.

Abstract Currently, lithium-ion batteries are increasingly widely used and generate waste due to the rapid development of EV industry. Meanwhile, how reuse “second life” recycle “extracting valuable metals” these wasted EVBs has been a hot research topic. The 4810 relevant articles from SCI SSCI Scopus databases were obtained. Scientometric analysis about second life using recycling methodologies was conducted by VOSviewer, Pajek, Netdraw. According analytical results, mythologies growing expected achievement will continue increase. China, Germany, USA, Italy, UK most active countries in this field. Tsinghua University “Fraunhofer ISI, Karlsruhe” “Polytechnic di Torino” Italy productive single collaborative institutions. journals SAE technical papers World Electric Vehicle Journal have highest publication citations than other journals. Chinese author “Li Y” number 36 publications, his cited 589 times authors. By analyzing co-occurrence keywords, energy analysis, (stationary using, small industry), treatment methods, (hydrometallurgy pyrometallurgical, electrochemical, bio-metallurgical) topics. S-curve article indicates hydrometallurgical bio-metallurgical methods attached with great potential near future. Further, different observed especially advanced techniques hydrometallurgical, spent medium bioleaching good, economically cheap, low CO 2 emission, environmentally friendly, high recovery rate.
