The rapid expansion of the digital economy presents substantial opportunities for achieving “dual carbon” objectives in China and globally. Understanding how contributes to carbon emission reduction is essential promoting high-quality economic growth. This study examines mechanisms through which affects emissions, with a focus on “production side” social reproduction process. Using panel data from 30 provincial-level regions between 2012 2022, this employs dual fixed-effects model mediation effect analyze impact emissions. It explores three key channels–scale effects, structural technological effects. Additionally, moderating applied assess role National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone (NBDCPZ) policy enhancing effects economy. findings indicate that: (1) plays significant reducing its being more pronounced eastern areas abundant energy resources higher levels development. (2) On production side, progress upgrading mediate whereas scale increases However, combined outweighs negative expansion. (3) analysis reveals that NBDCPZ amplifies economy, further strengthening prohibitive influence As nations increasingly prioritize sustainable development, provides valuable insights into by reduction. highlight need region-specific policies leverage transformation achieve neutrality goals.

The role of digital economy (DE) in improving urban ecological development (UED) has attracted scholarly attention. Additionally, traditional causal inference models encounter several challenges, such as model misspecification and the “curse dimensionality.” In response to these problems, double machine learning method is applied assess effect DE on UED. Leveraging data from 282 Chinese cities 2006–2021, valuable conclusions emerge. First, improves UED positively contributes resilience recovery. Second, promoting green innovation, enhancing environmental efficiency, optimizing industrial structures are pathways through which Third, influence displays heterogeneity. Based results, this work proposes relevant recommendations grounded empirical research.

After long-term development, the global economic level has improved significantly, but environmental issues generated by early extensive development seriously threaten survival of human beings. China, in particular, urgently needs to promote sustainable through green finance policies. For this reason, paper regards 2017 eight pilot zones five provinces for reform and innovations (GFRIs) as a quasi-natural experiment, explores whether it can encourage investment protection heavily polluting enterprises using difference-in-differences-in-differences (DDD) model. The finds that: First, GFRIs bolster heavy enterprises. results remain consistent after several robustness checks, covering placebo test, PSM-DID test so on. Second, mechanism tests find that policy promotes alleviating financing constraints cutting costs. Third, heterogeneity analysis shows promotion effect on is more pronounced with higher percentages secondary industry GDP, large-scale enterprises, better ESG management. This demonstrates beneficial influence promoting transformation provides suggestions improvement such

Introduction: This study captures the effect of digitalization and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on quality electronic financial reports in one developing nation, specifically Jordanian banking sector. Given ever-evolving landscape where institutions embrace digital technologies while integrating sustainability principles into their operations, it is essential to examine interplay both trends enhancing transparency accuracy reporting. Methods: Data were collected from professionals Jordan using a structured questionnaire. The responses two hundred four valid respondents analyzed accordingly Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). It tested relationships digitization, SDG integration, reporting. Results: results indicate that integration positively affect reports. On other hand, (Coefficient = 0.214) was more substantial than 0.150), which indicates good governance, environmental, social improvements add value reporting by providing accuracy. Moreover, these facilitate finance departments' data reporting, regulatory compliance. Conclusions: contributes literature importance for SME banks. Banks adopt tools align with SDGs are also better prepared meet stakeholder expectations comply requirements. Further research can investigate factors determining long-term economic variables how they ultimately shape standards economies.

We investigate the causal effect of big data on regional digital innovation by using staggered difference-in-differences method based panel from 281 cities in China between 2011 and 2019. find that positively affects innovation, especially eastern China, regions with low economic policy uncertainty, high online attention, strong legal environment. This innovation-promoting is achieved through enriching market opportunities agglomerating production factors. paper provides new empirical evidence promotes innovation.

Abstract The era of sustainable transformation has witnessed an increase in corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure waves. Using Chinese A‐share listed companies from 2016 to 2021 as a sample, this study adopted textual analysis machine‐learning techniques analyze ESG reports explore the imitation behavior disclosures emerging markets for first time. results show exists perspective group association. Regarding object, enterprises tend choose peer average level reference rather than best enterprise same industry, which reveals inherent law that enterprises' are satisfied with compliance championship. In terms effects, ESG‐mimetic isomorphic pressure no incremental information effect but efficiency optimization effect. Furthermore, intensity impact effects exhibit heterogeneity owing differences properties, sales growth rates, external attention.
